Getting Started

I love it - how do I begin?

A digital Will sometimes referred to as an online will, is a will you draft entirely online. After review, if can be printed out, signed and stored, with a copy stored securely online as a back-up.

What does “adeus” mean?

“adeus” is Portuguese for “to say goodbye,” reflecting our mission to protect your legacy and ease the farewell process.

Who can access my encrypted data and under what conditions?

Only you and any contacts you explicitly grant access—no one else can view your unencrypted files.

Why is it important to have a Will?

A Will ensures your wishes are followed, minimises family disputes and can reduce Inheritance Tax for your beneficiaries. Without a will, your estate will be settled according to outdated rules which may not reflect your wishes.

How long does it take to create a Will?

Most customers complete their Will in under 10 minutes.

How often does adeus back up my encrypted vault?

We perform automatic, encrypted backups daily to ensure your data is always recoverable.

Can I update my Will?

Absolutely. You can make unlimited updates at any time within the first 12 months at no extra cost. Subsequent updates are available to all paid adeus subscribers.

Is my electronic Will legally valid?

Yes, adeus Wills are fully compliant with existing wills legislation in England and Wales.

Your adeus will is also future proofed to comply with new electronic wills legislation when it is passed. This is expected in 2026.

Digital Vault

Why should I use the adeus Digital Vault?

It’s your secure, central hub for all important documents, accounts and instructions - accessible whenever your loved ones need them.

What can I store in my vault?

Wills, LPAs, insurance policies, bank statements, property deeds, photos, messages and more.

How do I grant access to trusted contacts?

Select ‘Key Contacts’ and add their name and contact details.

How often does adeus back up my encrypted vault?

We perform automatic, encrypted backups daily to ensure your data is always recoverable.

What happens to my vault when I pass away?

We will obtain a verified copy of your Death Certificate and verify the identity of your Key Contacts before providing them access to your secure adeus Executor Toolkit. This includes your will and access to all information and documents stored in your adeus Digital Vault.

Can I export my data?

Yes. We securely store your data on your behalf, and you download any files or your entire vault at any time. Simply contact us at hello@adeus.life and we will provide you with instructions, and enable secure access to download all your documents and information in a secure ZIP file.

Lasting Power of Attorney

What is a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)?

A legal document letting you appoint someone to make decisions on your behalf if you become unable. LPAs will be available in 2026.

When should I set up an LPA?

As early as possible - ideally alongside your Will - so your affairs are always protected, no matter what.

Who should I appoint as my attorney?

Choose someone you trust - usually a close family member or friend - who understands your wishes and responsibilities.

How is an LPA stored and accessed?

It’s created in our platform and securely stored in your Digital Vault; you grant access under the same conditions as your will.

Security & Privacy

Can I trust adeus with my information?

Yes. Trust and security are the foundations of adeus. We use GDPR-compliant, ISO-aligned cloud infrastructure and bank-grade encryption to protect your data.

How is my data encrypted?

All files are encrypted with AES-256 in transit and at rest. No one can read them - including us - without your credentials.

What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?

An extra security layer requiring a time-sensitive code plus your password every time you log in.

Do you store my passwords?

No. We never store your vault passwords; we recommend using a dedicated password manager on your personal device. You can store information about your password manager in your secure adeus Digital Vault, so your executor and named key contacts know how to find and access.

How can I control or delete my data?

Go to Account > Privacy to review, export or permanently delete any personal information or documents.

What plans do you offer?

Free Vault, Premium Digital Vault, and Legacy (Will + Digital Vault) - each adding more features for Wills, vault storage, executor toolkit, and other legacy planning tools.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free Vault plan includes secure storage, key-contact tagging and AI guidance and support at no cost. It's perfect if you want to get organised and explore legacy planning, and you can upgrade at any time at the click of a button.

How do I upgrade or cancel?

Head to Account > Plans to switch tiers or cancel instantly - no questions asked.

Are there any hidden fees?

Our goal is to enable more people to have access to wills and legacy planning, without the usual high costs of solicitors. Our pricing is simple and transparent with all features, updates and support are included in your plan price.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major debit & credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay—securely processed via Stripe.
